Jersey Marinas retains '5 Gold Anchors'
From Jersey Marinas,
07 February 2012
Jersey Marinas has retained its prestigious ‘5 Gold Anchors’ status, awarded by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) for the seventh consecutive year.
The Gold Anchor Award Scheme, which was established 23 years ago, recognises the quality and level of facilities and services provided to boat owners and has become a trustworthy measure of excellence for them in finding a visiting or permanent berth.
TYHA assessment report states that "Jersey is a beautiful destination, offering a variety of berthing options for visiting or permanent boat owners." It goes on to say that the marinas offer "an excellent first impression, they are kept clean and tidy with a strong attention to customer care. Berth holders can choose from a range of options that best suit their requirements from any of the 3 marinas - Elizabeth, St Helier and La Collette and they are backed up with an impressive range of services, which include complimentary Wi-Fi use, a dedicated website, refuse disposal and car parking."
The Gold Anchor Award Scheme ratings can vary from 1 to 5 gold anchors and involves:
- a 3 stage process
- an independent assessment
- ‘Mystery Shopper’ visit
- berth holder’s online questionnaire
The overall findings from each of these elements contribute to the final Gold Anchor rating.
General Manager for The Yacht Harbour Association, Gareth Turnbull says, "It is encouraging to see Jersey Marinas operate to a very high standard and that they are currently investing a significant amount of money in future developments and resources."
Jersey Marinas is delighted to have retained this prestigious status, according to Group Commercial Director for Ports of Jersey, Myra Shacklady. She says, "The Gold Anchor Scheme is an internationally recognised sign of quality and to maintain this high level standard is a true testament to the professionalism and dedication of our marinas and support staff who strive to ensure the services and facilities we provide to our local and visiting customers exceed their expectations."
Jersey Marinas joined the voluntary scheme 12 years ago and have held ‘5 Gold Anchors’ status since 2005.
