Travelling with pets
The British Isles, including Jersey, is a rabies-free area. There are restrictions in place for the landing of pets within the Bailiwick of Jersey.
Travelling to Jersey with your pet from the UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands
There are no travel or documentation requirements for pets coming directly into Jersey from the Channel Islands, UK or the Isle of Man. However, it may be a good idea to get advice on the best way to transport your pet and ensure its welfare during the journey.

Pets travelling from Saint Malo
If you wish to bring a pet into Jersey from Saint Malo on the Condor ferry service, then you can do so only if your pet meets the requirements of the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS). Detailed information about PETS and the steps you need to take to ensure your pet meets the requirements which are available on the States of Jersey website.
Pets travelling from Ireland
All pets travelling between Jersey and the Republic of Ireland must have a pet passport. However, dogs do not need to have a tapeworm treatment and your pet does not need to travel with an approved carrier.
Pets travelling from other locations
As part of the Prevention of Rabies precautions, Jersey legislation prohibits the landing of live animals on the Island and Bailiwick of Jersey without a licence previously granted by or on behalf of the Planning and Environment Ministry of the States of Jersey.
The Environment department can be contacted by phone on + 44 (0) 1534 441600 or via email. The out-of-hours PETS phone helpline can be reached on + 44 (0) 1534 441617.
