Update on mooring chains project
From Jersey Marinas,
20 June 2011
The dinghy pontoon has now been repositioned along the western arm of South Pier. Delivery of the new rigid mooring pontoon is expected during the week beginning 20 June with installation as soon as possible afterwards. Mooring tags identifying connection points have now been installed - boat owners should not alter or remove the tags for any reason as they will be needed for future identification.
A letter will be sent to boat owners confirming individual mooring positions and giving advice on chain lengths. There will be no specific advice on chain diameter as this will depend on the size and weight of the craft; if any boat owner is unsure of their specific need they should contact one of the recognised marine traders for advice. The specified pick-up points are for guidance only.
Letters confirming mooring positions on row A will not be sent out until the rigid mooring pontoon has been installed and marked up. Once boat owners have received their confirmation letter, they are free to install their chains; however, they will not be able to move their boats on to their moorings until the works have been completed.
Boat owners can refer to the drawing maps on this page for specific mooring locations on rows B, C and D. The row A drawing map will be posted as soon as possible.
Should any boat owner have any questions, please contact the Marine Leisure Centre on 447730.
