La Collette pontoon replacement project on schedule

As work continues to replace the pontoon units at La Collette, Jersey Marinas can report that the programme remains on schedule.
Jersey Marinas staff completed electricity readings prior to the services being removed and all boats were migrated from the area by 21 November 2011.
The disconnection of the existing pontoon units followed, with new equipment starting to arrive shortly before the Christmas and New Year break. The main back walkway is now in position together with a number of other walkway pontoon units. Fingers are beginning to arrive on site and are temporarily being stored afloat pending final attachment.
Jersey Marinas anticipate that the bridge landing will be changed during the week commencing 13 February and all new pontoons will be in place by the second week in March. The reinstatement of services will follow in readiness for commissioning, and works to improve the security gate and fencing layout are also anticipated for March.
The project is scheduled for completion on 6 April 2012.
